So, it’s been a little while since I posted. It’s coming back to me though. I tend to post more when tour is looming up ahead, as it is now. Just posted November dates for Appleseed Cast by the way. Our Canada shows did not come through… all except for Vancouver, which is still on. I was looking forward to playing 5 shows in Canada, but it looks like we’ll have to wait until 2012 when the full length comes out. Tour Tour Tour 09/04/2011

Republicans have decided to not fund the FAA until they can put Union stripping language in their new contract. http://www.faa.gov/news/updates/?newsId=64216 Has anyone told these people that we have a democracy? You don't just dismantle society and hold it hostage until you get your way. You put forth an idea, and people vote on it. That's the way our system of government was set up. What the Republicans are doing right now is putting people's safey and well bring at risk. Shame on them... and for what? So that workers at the FAA are denied the right to organize and collectively bargain? To suppress speech? The same goes with the debt ceiling. This is a crisis completely manufactured by the Republican party to hold America hostage until they get what they want. They're putting the well being and safety of millions of people at risk... and for what? They don't want millionaires to have to pay as much taxes as we do? According to Bloomberg Businessweek, “For the well-off, this could be the best tax day since the early 1930s: Top tax rates on ordinary income, dividends, estates and gifts will remain at or near historically low levels for at least the next two years. That’s thanks in part to legislation passed in December 2010 by the 111th Congress and signed by President Obama. ... ‘This is clearly far and away the most generous tax situation that’s existed,’ says Gregory Singer, a national managing director of the wealth management group at AllianceBernstein. ‘It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. For the 400 U.S. taxpayers with the highest adjusted gross income, the effective federal income tax rate — what they actually pay — fell from almost 30 percent in 1995 to just under 17 percent in 2007, according to the IRS’” (“Richest gain with historically low income tax rate,” Bloomberg Businessweek, April 10). The UMS show was awesome. Thank you for everyone that came out. Today a little advice. Never buy a Chrysler Town and Country. We have had 4 huge repairs done in the last 6 months. The numbers go like this. Jan: $700, Mar: $800 Jun: $2000 Jul: $900. Ouch. Right now we're staring down the barrel of a faulty starter. If it goes out, that will be another $400. Not only did Reagan raise taxes eleven times and raise the debt ceiling eighteen times, he also, for the first time ever, granted the Federal Reserve the authority to adjust the Discount Rate. This is specifically how Reagan was able to squash our hyperinflation problem at the time. It is also a form of market manipulation. Yep, our main man Reagan was only able to cure our hyperinflation problem by granting a federal entity the authority to manipulate markets. And they've been doing it ever since. And yet people still insist he was a pure capitalist, even though a cursory perusal of history explcitly indicates otherwise. . Monday 07/18/2011
Just got news of our confirmation details for the UMS festival in Denver this weekend. This is for Old Canes. Te UMS festival is a multi-venue festival put on in Denver every year (for the last 11 years.) Originally I was told that we would be playing our show with Black Heart Procession.... but such is not the case.. We are playing the 3 Kings Tavern at 7pm, and they are playing the Mayan at 11:30. I will be able to get over there to see them. I went to High School with Tobias, and I haven't talked to him for nearly 20 years. I want to see if I can catch up with him while we're there. .
